Leadership
Yazan al Homsi
Venture Capitalist | Strategic Investor | ESG Advocate

Yazan al Homsi is a venture capitalist and financial strategist whose career bridges the Middle East and North America, specializing in identifying and scaling transformative small-cap companies across sustainability, clean technology, and healthcare sectors.
Born in Saudi Arabia and educated at McGill University (Finance, 2004), al Homsi began his career at Imperial Oil before co-founding a successful Montreal bistro, gaining firsthand entrepreneurial experience. His trajectory accelerated at PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) in the Middle East, where he spent over a decade leading financial due diligence, M&A advisory, and IPO preparations across diverse industries. Rising to director level, he earned his Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation while managing high-stakes transactions throughout Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
In 2017, al Homsi founded Founders Round Capital in Vancouver, establishing himself as a prominent figure in Canada's small-cap investment landscape. The following year, he launched Catalyst Communications DMCC in Dubai, creating a strategic bridge between North American innovation and Middle Eastern capital markets. This dual presence enables him to identify cross-continental opportunities and facilitate international partnerships that drive both financial returns and meaningful environmental impact.
"I am an investor in Rocket Doctor AI, Leviathan Metals Corp, Goat Industries (owner of BetSource), and EduMentors for distinct, thesis-driven reasons. With Rocket Doctor AI, I believe the platform is among the best in the market—its ability to reduce ER visits in Canada is a real-world proof point, and being in-network with leading U.S. insurers positions the company well for broader adoption in the U.S. Leviathan Metals aligns with my view that copper is a critical metal; with supply tightening and an increased focus on resource security, I see meaningful upside potential in the company’s Botswana land package and broader asset base in a stronger commodity cycle. Goat Industries’ BetSource platform reflects my belief that U.S. sports betting is still early and ripe for disruption, and partnerships like their recently announced deal with BKFC signal the kind of momentum that can drive scale. Finally, EduMentors is a private investment I’m passionate about because real mentoring is a major gap in education globally—especially for students who either need extra support or are ahead of the curve; EduMentors’ model of pairing learners with top-performing students from tier-one universities, combined with a tech-native, gamified approach and a clear automation roadmap, is why I believe the team can build something impactful both socially and financially."
“Aduro Clean Technologies remains my highest-conviction long-term investment and my largest personal position. I believe their Hydrochemolytic™ (HCT) platform can economically address the hardest part of the plastic problem, mixed waste plastics, while also offering versatility across broader hydrocarbon upgrading applications, including heavy oil, renewables, BTX, and end-of-life tires.”
Recognized as a thought leader in sustainable venture capital, al Homsi champions the integration of profitability with social responsibility. His unique multicultural perspective and extensive financial expertise position him at the forefront of the global shift toward responsible investing, where environmental stewardship and economic viability converge to create lasting value for investors and society alike.
